Welcome to the mining division at Oak Mountain High Tech Solutions. We are a unique group of miners who love “rock” and “heavy metal”.

After a mining incident in Chile left 33 men 2 miles underground for 69 days, CEO Luke Rakers promised he would do anything in his power to prevent this from ever happening again. He got to work and started building up this mining division.

Our experience in the mining industry is unparalleled to any other company in the industry today. That experience combined with our custom-built, state-of-the-art “rocking robot” allows us to mine deeper, safer and faster than any other technology in the industry today! Although the mines we encounter are rough and present many challenges, they are no match for the Oak Mountain Rock Miners and our “rocking robot”. The deposits or coal, bauxite, magnetite, chalcopyrite, spodumene that lie in our companies mines are not just our paydirt, but paydirt for the world, and we are ready for the show.

We have recently been given a chance to present a bid to the BEST Inc. Mining Division.  They purchased a mine that contains several valuable resources in record-shattering concentrations – but there’s a problem: The mine is far too dangerous for humans. Consequently, the mine was decommissioned years ago and has since fallen into disrepair. Initial evaluations of the mine have revealed five lucrative materials at various depths beneath the surface: Coal, Iron, Aluminum, Copper, and Lithium. BEST has released a request for proposal (RFP) to prototype a robotic system that can repair the mine and retrieve the valuable commodities below. Since the winning company will be awarded the contract of running the mine, BEST will be evaluating the companies themselves as well as the prototypes they create. Their project documentation (notebook), sales presentation (oral presentation), company exhibit (booth), as well as their company culture and business ethics (spirit and sportsmanship) will be considered. Much like the real mining industry, success in the design competition will be determined by net profit and you will be in direct competition with your opponents. Also, the market values of the commodities will change over time, so you may have to adjust your priorities mid-contest.

With all this info, we plan to impress the BEST Inc. Mining Division, and get to work on this extravagant task because their mine is the world’s paydirt and only the Rock Miners can ROCK THIS GIG!
